Jay-Z – In My Lifetime, Vol. 1
Jay-Z’s second album released on Nov. 4th 1997. Most of the album’s production was handled by Diddy’s (Puff Daddy then) label Bad Boy. The album had a more commercial appeal than reasonable doubt which was critically acclaimed but didn’t manage to sell a lot of records. In my lifetime went on to sell 1.2 million copies giving Jay-Z his first platinum album, it peaked at #3 on the Billboard Top 200 topping the previous mark (#23 ) set by Reasonable Doubt. The Album started the 3 set Volume series. The first single from the album was (Always Be My) Sunshine which reached #95 on the Billboard Hot 100 & #37 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles, the second single was The City Is Mine featuring blackstreet the song reached #53 on the Billboard Hot 100, The third & final single from the album was Wishing On A Star.
